Carbon Fiber Furniture
Carbon fibers are fibers that are 5 to 10 micrometres in diameter and are mostly made of carbon atoms. Carbon fibers have a number of benefits, including high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance, and low thermal expansion. These characteristics have made them extremely popular in the aerospace, motorsports, and yachting industries. Carbon atoms are bonded together in crystals that are more or less aligned parallel to the long axis of the fibre to produce a carbon fibre, as the crystal alignment gives the fibre a high strength-to-volume ratio, making it very strong for its size. Thousands of fibers are bundled together to form a tow, which can be used alone or woven into a fabric.
